Faugères Self-catering Holiday Accommodation
The comfortable modern house is in a beautiful situation on the edge of the old village, facing south, and is perfect for a self-catering holiday in the South of France. The vaulted ceilings and many windows give this well-furnished and well-equipped house a very light and spacious feeling inside. There is a small enclosed garden surrounding the house with BBQ, shaded terrace and private parking.
The accommodation is on two levels with two bedrooms. On the ground floor is a bedroom with a double bed and fitted wardrobe and a view East to the garden, a well equipped modern kitchen with a combination gas and electric cooker, dish washer and fridge/freezer, open plan dining room and lounge. There is a w.c. and hand basin downstairs. Upstairs there is a bedroom with a double bed and attached dressing-room. Distant views of the Pyrenees and the sea. A full bathroom is upstairs with an over the bath shower and a w.c. The house is very well insulated with double glazing and electric panel heaters through-out. There is a washing machine and TV with Free Sky channels.
Bedrooms
Bedroom 1. Upstairs with a double bed and attached walk in dressing-room. Exposed beams. Distant views of Pyrenees and the sea from the window.
Bedroom 2. Ground floor with a double bed and fitted wardrobe, window to garden.
Good quality beds in both bedrooms.
Bathrooms
A full bathroom is upstairs with an over the bath shower, hand wash basin and wc. Very good supply of hot water. Downstairs there is a separate wc and wash hand basin.
Kitchen
There is a well equipped modern kitchen with plenty of good quality pots, pans, utensils, electric kettle etc. There is a combination gas and electric cooker, dish washer and fridge/freezer. The automatic washing machine is upstairs.
Utility Room
Gas bottles for stove, small drying rack, vacuum cleaner, iron, iron board, brush and dustpan, floor mop, etc.
Living Rooms
There is a spacious feeling open plan dining room and lounge. A selection of walking and road maps, guide books, novels, cards and board games is available to guests. There is a radio and a TV which receives the free Sky channels including BBC, ITV, etc. Wi-Fi is available for your laptop or similar.
Outside
There is an East facing terrace with a pergola, which is perfect for breakfast in the sun; it is shaded from the hot sun by lunchtime. There is a large outside table and plenty of chairs. On the south side of the house is a large wooden deck which gets shade in the afternoon from a large tree. Two deckchairs are available. The garden is fenced and planted with various shrubs. There is also a barbecue and a rotary clothes drier on the terrace. There is off street parking on the gravel drive or on the street under the shade of a tree.

Changeover day
We normally ask people to arrive after 4pm and depart by 10am. Monday is the preferred changeover day but we can usually be flexible with this and with arrival and departure times.
Notes on accommodation
The house is very well insulated with double glazing and electric panel heaters throughout. The house is not air-conditioned but stays relatively cool in the summer because of the high standard of insulation and window shutters. There are beams upstairs with a 5ft 9in/175cm clearance to the floor in one spot (otherwise higher); so if you are taller than that you will have to duck! No smoking inside the house please.
Accessibility
The accommodation is not suitable for people with serious mobility problems because of steps, the staircase and the upstairs bathroom.
Coast/Beach
It is a 40 minute drive to the nearest Mediterranean beaches - Serignan, Portiragnes and Valras. Cap d'Agde and Narbonne Plage are a little further away. There is also good swimming at the Lac du Salagou about 40 mins away.
Golf
Nearest golf course is at Lamalou les Bains - 9 holes, 15 mins by car. It has a club house and a restaurant. Beziers has an 18 hole golf course, 40 mins by car.
